About Angela

Angela comes to Lotus Rose with a rich personal and professional background — and a deep commitment to being the kind of therapist she wishes more people had access to. Before becoming a clinician, she spent years as an educator, school counselor, and juvenile probation officer within the Utah court system. Those roles shaped how she sees the people she works with: not as diagnoses, but as whole human beings navigating complex systems and carrying more than most people know.

She's also brought her own chapters to this work. Angela has personal experience with trauma, postpartum depression, divorce, and blending families. That lived experience isn't incidental to her practice — it's the foundation of the genuine empathy she brings into every session.

A Decade of People Work Before the Therapy Couch

Angela holds a Bachelor's in Education and dual Master's degrees — one in School Counseling and one in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. But her real education started long before the degrees were framed.

Born and raised in Brazil, she has also called New York, New Jersey, and Washington, D.C. home before settling in Utah. That history of crossing cultures and building a life in new environments informs how she shows up for clients who feel out of place, misunderstood, or like they're carrying more than anyone around them knows.

Her training in the Gottman Method brings a particularly research-grounded lens to couples work — a modality built on decades of data about what actually makes relationships stronger. Combined with EMDR for trauma, IFS for internal parts work, and EFT for emotional depth, Angela's approach covers the full terrain of what it means to heal and connect.

Seen, Heard, and Supported

Angela's clinical philosophy is direct: when clients feel truly seen, heard, and supported, they can do hard things. She builds that foundation first — the trust, the rapport, the sense that this is a space where the real stuff can come up — before moving into deeper processing work.

She embraces the full range of who her clients are. Their cultures, their identities, their stories. The context they carry into the room. Angela deeply values connection and belonging, and she celebrates the unique experiences and perspectives that each person brings, weaving that into how she practices.
