Mental Health Therapy in Orem, Utah
A Safe Place to Heal, Grow, and Bloom
A safe haven for women navigating postpartum depression, birth trauma, childhood abuse, grief, and life's hardest chapters.
Why Lotus Rose
A Team of Therapists Who Specialize in What You're Going Through
Lotus Rose was founded because too many women go through the hardest chapters of their lives — postpartum depression, birth trauma, childhood abuse, grief — without finding a therapist who truly specializes in those experiences.
Every therapist here is trained in trauma treatment. Every continuing education course is chosen specifically for women's mental health. This isn't a general practice that also sees women — it's a team built around your needs.

What Makes Us Different
Women's Mental Health Isn't Just Something We Include — It's at the Heart of Everything We Do
Many practices say they support women through challenges like postpartum or perinatal mental health — but often, those services are just one part of a much broader, general focus.
At Lotus Rose Counseling, women's mental health isn't just something we include — it's at the heart of everything we do.
We intentionally center our training, continuing education, and clinical work around the unique experiences women face, including trauma, grief and loss, postpartum depression, hormonal changes, and more. This allows us to offer deeply informed, compassionate care that truly understands the nuances of a woman's life.
We also recognize that when a woman is struggling, it often impacts the whole family. That's why we have clinicians who work with children and teens as well — so the support you need can extend to the people you love most.
"Postpartum depression is not a sign of a personal failure, but instead a signal that you have an unmet need, attachment wound, or an unhealed trauma."

How We Help
Evidence-Based Therapy Matched to Your Needs
We don't use one-size-fits-all approaches. Your therapist assesses your specific situation and uses the modalities that will be most effective for you.
What to Expect
Therapy Isn't What You Think It Is
One of the biggest misconceptions we hear is that therapy is just talking — something you could do with a friend. There's training, technique, and years of dedication behind every session.
The other myth? That it's a fast fix. Healing takes time. Most clients work with their therapist for 6-12 months. The first phase is about building genuine rapport and getting comfortable. Then the deep work begins.
We like to keep it human: open dialogue, education, and yes — humor. Because the topics are hard, and the space needs to feel real.

Frequently Asked Questions
What types of therapy does Lotus Rose Counseling offer?
Lotus Rose Counseling specializes in perinatal mental health (postpartum depression, birth trauma, infant loss), childhood abuse recovery, trauma and PTSD therapy, grief counseling, and women's issues — including navigating difficult relationships, abuse, and life transitions. All of our therapists are trained in some type of trauma treatment, including modalities like EMDR, ART, IFS, and Experiential therapy.
What makes Lotus Rose different from other therapy practices?
Women's mental health is our core specialty — not a side offering alongside everything else. As Joy puts it: 'A lot of places will say they see women, but they have a wide variety of what they see. With us, women's mental health is what we do.' Every training the team takes is specifically geared toward women's issues, and the space was designed to feel like a safe haven for women who've experienced traumatic events.
How do I know if I need therapy?
We don't believe that therapy is just for the moments of crisis. For many women, therapy can be helpful during times of stress, life transitions, or when emotions feel overwhelming or difficult to manage. It can support you in navigating relationship challenges, burnout, or feeling unlike yourself, and it's especially valuable during the perinatal period—including pregnancy, postpartum, and early motherhood—when shifts in identity, hormones, and daily life can impact mental health. Whether you're coping with anxiety, low mood, intrusive thoughts, or simply seeking more clarity and balance, you don't have to wait until things feel unmanageable to reach out. Therapy is a space for support, understanding, and growth at any stage.
What does therapy at Lotus Rose actually look like?
Most clients work with their therapist for 6–12 months, though the pace and length of care are always individualized. The initial phase focuses on building a genuine therapeutic relationship, gaining insight, and creating a sense of comfort and safety. From there, sessions often move into deeper processing and meaningful change. While each therapist differs in personality and technique, the approach with each of us in general is open, honest, and grounded, with room for humor—because the work can be hard, and the space should feel human. There are no contracts, allowing clients the flexibility to engage in therapy in a way that feels right for them.

I'm nervous about starting therapy. What should I do?
Call and ask for a free 15-minute consultation. You can meet a clinician over telehealth, ask about their approach and training, see what they're like as a person. Sometimes just having that initial conversation opens the door. There's no commitment — you can come to a session and if it's not the right fit, find somewhere else. No contract, no pressure.
