Our Story
Why "Lotus Rose"?
Two symbols of strength, resilience, and the ability to bloom after adversity.
Joy's Story
"I Know What It's Like to Need Help in That Period of Time"
Joy Bouchard founded Lotus Rose because she's lived the struggle. As a mother of three, she has her own journey with birth trauma, postpartum depression, and postpartum anxiety — each child bringing a different experience.
She knows what it's like to be searching for someone you can talk to, someone who can give guidance on how to navigate the hardest chapters of motherhood. That's why she created a place that wasn't just specialized — but that felt safe.
"I wanted to create a place that was very safe, that felt warm and welcoming. All of our clinicians are trained in how to help specifically with women's issues. I wanted it to be a safe haven."
Joy Bouchard, LCSW — FounderWhat Makes Us Different
Women's Mental Health Is Our Specialty. It's What We Do Best.
A lot of practices say they see women for postpartum or perinatal issues — but they also see everyone else for everything else. At Lotus Rose, women's mental health is our core focus. We also work with teens and children — especially those navigating grief, loss, trauma, and behavioral challenges.
Every therapist is trained in trauma treatment. Every continuing education course is chosen specifically to get better at treating women's issues. The space itself was designed to feel like a safe haven — warm, welcoming, and nothing like a clinical office.
What We Believe
- The therapeutic relationship is the foundation — you need to feel safe before you can heal
- Therapy isn't just talking — there's training, technique, and expertise behind it
- Healing takes time — most clients work with us for 6-12 months, and that's normal
- There's room for humor in hard work — the space needs to feel human
- You should never feel locked in — no contracts, no pressure, find the right fit
Who We Work With
Women Navigating Life's Hardest Chapters
Our practice serves women dealing with perinatal mental health disorders — postpartum depression, birth trauma, infant loss, and the full spectrum of postpartum mood and anxiety. We also specialize in childhood abuse recovery, especially when it resurfaces during motherhood.
Beyond that, we help women navigating difficult relationships, physical and sexual abuse, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, and the identity shifts that come with major life transitions. For teens and children, we treat behavioral challenges, anxiety, trauma, and self-esteem struggles.
Whether you're a new mom with intrusive thoughts, a woman processing decades-old trauma, or a teenager navigating hard changes — there's a therapist at Lotus Rose who has specific training for your experience.
Our Space
A Place That Feels Like Home
We've intentionally created a space that feels warm, safe, and inviting, with every detail thoughtfully designed to offer women a comfortable and welcoming environment.
