Trauma & PTSD Therapy
What Happened to You Still Lives in Your Body. We Can Help It Heal.
Childhood abuse, sexual assault, birth trauma, accidents — your nervous system is still protecting you from something that's already over. Specialized therapy helps it let go.
You're Not Broken. Your Nervous System Is Doing Its Job.
The hypervigilance, the flashbacks, the emotional numbness, the way your body tenses at certain sounds or touches — these aren't signs of weakness. They're your nervous system doing exactly what it was designed to do: protect you.
The problem is that it's still running the threat response for something that happened in the past. Trauma therapy helps your brain and body recognize that the danger is over, so the alarm system can finally stand down.
At Lotus Rose, our therapists are trained in trauma-informed, evidence-based approaches and are dedicated to helping women work through past experiences at their own pace. This often includes supporting clients as unresolved childhood trauma shows up across different stages of life.

Our Approach
Evidence-Based Trauma Therapies
We don't use one approach for everyone. Your therapist selects from multiple evidence-based modalities based on your specific trauma history:
EMDR — the gold standard for PTSD. Uses bilateral eye movements to help your brain reprocess traumatic memories. Recognized by the WHO, APA, and VA.
ART — rapid trauma processing using voluntary image replacement. Often produces relief in 1-5 sessions. Effective for single-event trauma and acute symptoms.
IFS (Internal Family Systems) — works with the different "parts" of yourself that carry trauma. Helps you understand why you react the way you do and develop compassion for your protective responses.
Experiential Therapy — the newest addition to our toolkit. Goes beyond talking to engage your body and emotions directly in the healing process.
Common Questions
Trauma Therapy FAQs
What types of trauma does Lotus Rose treat?
We treat childhood abuse (physical, sexual, emotional), sexual assault, domestic violence, birth trauma, combat trauma, accidents, medical trauma, developmental trauma, and complex PTSD. Our clinicians have a particular focus on helping clients process childhood trauma, especially as it resurfaces across different stages of life.
Do I have to talk about my trauma in detail?
No. Our primary trauma treatments — EMDR and ART — don't require you to retell your story in detail. You'll briefly identify the memory and the emotions connected to it, but the processing happens through eye movements and internal work. Many clients find this less overwhelming than approaches that require detailed verbal retelling.
How do I know if I have PTSD?
Common signs include flashbacks or intrusive memories, nightmares, avoiding things that remind you of the event, feeling on edge or easily startled, emotional numbness, difficulty sleeping, irritability, and feeling disconnected from yourself or others. You don't need a formal diagnosis to benefit from trauma therapy — if past experiences are affecting your daily life, we can help.
What trauma therapies do you use?
Our therapists use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy), IFS (Internal Family Systems), experiential therapy, and CBT. Every therapist at Lotus Rose is trained in at least one trauma-specific modality. Your therapist will assess your situation and recommend the best approach.
Can childhood trauma really affect me as an adult?
Absolutely. This is something our therapists commonly see — clients may seek support for anxiety or depression and discover underlying, unprocessed childhood experiences contributing to how they feel. These early experiences shape the nervous system, relationships, and self-perception, and working through them can bring significant relief.
